The body of a man discovered in the trunk of a car in Canyon Country was identified Tuesday as that of 28-year-old Jose David Flores, from Leggett in Northern California.
Flores was the owner of a blue Honda Accord found by a deputy on patrol parked on the shoulder of the road at Golden Valley Road and Robert C. Lee Parkway about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
The car was still there more than hour later and, while preparing to have the illegally parked vehicle towed, the deputy began an inventory search of the Honda and found the body about 10:45 a.m., sheriff’s Deputy Crystal Hernandez said.
The cause of his death has not been determined.
The car was left parked near Golden Valley High School, north of Sierra Highway.
