A brush fire scorched about four acres of vegetation alongside the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway west of Porter Ranch Thursday, and a firefighter suffered a minor injury, authorities said.
The flames, reported shortly before noon near Topanga Canyon Boulevard, prompted the closure of two westbound freeway lanes in the area, authorities said.
Firefighters gained the upper hand on the flames after about an hour. County firefighters declared a knockdown on the blaze around 1 p.m., although some remained on scene to douse hotspots. No structures were threatened.
Crews from Ventura County and the city of Los Angeles took part in the firefight.
A Ventura County firefighter suffered a minor injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment, said Los Angeles County fire Inspector Randall Wright.
