A man sought as the suspected killer of his wife and baby boy was arrested in San Pedro early Friday, police said

Algernon Rieux, identified by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s detectives as responsible for the deaths, was taken into custody without incident around 2 a.m., Los Angeles Police Sgt. Kelly Castillo said.

Rieux’s wife, Jacquline Rieux, and their 2-month-old son, Joshua, were found dead at the scene in the 11100 block of South Normandie Avenue in the Westmont area around 8:10 a.m. Thursday.

Sheriff’s detectives had described Rieux, 26, as bipolar, possibly suicidal and under the influence of methamphetamine. They said he had connections in the San Pedro area.
