A man was shot and killed Sunday in Compton.
Deputies responded about 11:35 a.m. to a report of a man with a gunshot wound in the 1500 block of West 154th Street, Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
They located the victim, said to be an Hispanic man, “in front of the location,” she said.
The victim was suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Hernandez said.
The suspect, described as a black man in early 20s, fled the scene in what appeared to be a dark-colored four-door Kia, Hernandez said.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau were investigating the killing, she said.
