Crews quickly contained a slow-moving two-acre grassfire in Ernest E. Debs Regional Park in Highland Park, authorities said Sunday.

The brusher was reported at 2:22 p.m. and was fully contained about 40 minutes later, said Los Angeles Fire Department Spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

Firefighters were still on scene working to put out hot spots, she said.

There was no immediate threat to structures, Stewart said.

Helicopters and water tankers were called in.

The grasslands in the park, east of the Route 110 Arroyo Seco Parkway, are known to burn nearly every summer.
