A man was shot in the back at an ATM outside a Bank of America branch in South Los Angeles on Monday night.
The shooting occurred at Gage Avenue and Avalon Boulevard about 8 p.m., said Officer Mike Lopez of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section.
Lopez said the victim was using the automated teller machine when he became involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical. The suspect then shot him in the back one time and fled in a 2008 or 2009 Toyota Camry.
The victim was conscious and breathing when he was taken to a hospital. Lopez said there was no indication that robbery was involved.
