A man was sentenced Monday to nearly 72 years in prison for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend.
Mark Little, 51, was convicted June 12 of first-degree murder in the 2014 death of Deborah Ann Treptor.
Jurors also found Little guilty of two counts each of corporal injury to a cohabitant and assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and one count each of dissuading a witness from reporting a crime, simple battery of a cohabitant and criminal threats.
Prosecutors said Little severely and repeatedly beat Treptor during the course of their two-year relationship, threatening to kill her if she told anyone.
Treptor broke up with Little on April 29, 2014, despite his protests. Little told his family that he wouldn’t allow Treptor to leave him.
About two weeks later, he went to Treptor’s Watts home and stabbed the 35-year-old woman twice in the neck.
Little was arrested the same day and has been jailed since then on more than $2 million bail.
