A woman was facing possible murder charges Wednesday for her alleged involvement in a crime spree with two men who were killed in a shootout with a Montebello store owner, police said.

Toni Lopez, 21, of Los Angeles was booked on suspicion of murder and robbery, with bail set at $1 million, the Montebello Police Department reported.

Lopez, who was arrested Tuesday, is scheduled to appear in court in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday.

Kevin Fierro, 23, of Los Angeles, and Roger Soriano, 21, whose city of residence was not released, were killed in he shootout that occurred about 12:20 a.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of West Whittier Boulevard.

The store owner was wounded, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Both suspects were armed with handguns when they tried to rob the business owner, police said. During the confrontation, one suspect fired several shots at the victim, striking him once, according to investigators.

The merchant, whose name was withheld, fired shots that struck both suspects, police said.

Lopez was detained Tuesday while she was in a vehicle that had been taken in a carjacking, police said.

“Investigators believe that Lopez was with Kevin Fierro and Roger Soriano during a violent crime spree starting Friday evening in East Los Angeles and ending in (the) violent and deadly robbery in Montebello,” according to a police statement.
