
An unidentified man was in custody Tuesday night after a pursuit by authorities on a freeway and surface streets in Pico Rivera and El Monte.
The suspect was originally wanted for speeding, California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

The pursuit began at 9:20 p.m. on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway at Beverly Boulevard and ended in El Monte at 10:15 p.m., Villalobos said.
Broadcast footage showed the suspect speeding and driving on the wrong side of the street.
The pursuit was taken up by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies, Villalobos said.
A videographer at the scene said the pursuit terminated in or near a mobile home park in El Monte.
