The body of a man, possibly in his 60s, was discovered Monday near the Golden State (5) Freeway in Santa Clarita and is being investigated as a possible suicide.
A passer-by spotted the body at 4:15 p.m. just off the Valencia Boulevard onramp to the northbound freeway, said Sgt. Brian Allen of the sheriff’s Santa Clarita.
“It (the death) is consistent with a suicide, but homicide detectives and the coroner’s office will have to determine that,” Allen said. The sheriff’s sergeant would not comment on why he believed the death was a suicide.
