A 21-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her sister-in-law during a fight Sunday morning in a Rowland Heights apartment apartment, authorities said.

The victim died at a hospital after the stabbing about 2 a.m. in the 1900 block of Batson Avenue, Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.

The woman’s 19-year-old sister-in-law fled the scene but was arrested a short time later, Hernandez said.

The two lived together at the apartment with other family members, the deputy said.

Deputies called to the apartment to investigate a report of an assault found the stabbed victim lying in the apartment’s doorway, according to Hernandez.

Witnesses said the women were arguing when the sister-in-law stabbed the victim in the neck, Hernandez said.

It’s unclear what the argument was about.

Neither woman’s name was made available.
