A man in his 40s who suffered “blunt force trauma” was found dead Thursday at a transitional housing building in Chatsworth.
The victim, who witnesses said was a manager of the building, was found about 2:35 a.m. in a driveway in the 10300 block of DeSoto Avenue, according to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Drake Madison.

His name was not officially released, but residents and family at the scene identified him as Curtis Houston.
“He is, uh, going to be definitely missed, by many and quite a few. And he was really spiritual too,” Houston’s brother, Cunie, told NBC4.
Madison told City News Service that the victim was found by paramedics who responded to a “man down” call.
“We have homicide detectives at the scene,” he said. “We don’t know if it’s gang-related and we don’t have any suspect information at this point.”
Anyone with information on the death was urged to call the LAPD’s Devonshire Division at (818) 832-0633.
