Burbank police detectives arrested a 49-year-old man Monday afternoon on suspicion of fatally stabbing a woman whose body was found in his home.
Brian Thomas Lowe was interviewed Monday afternoon by police and then placed in custody, according to Burbank police Officer Joshua Kendrick.
Lowe is being held in lieu of $1.035 million bail, according to county jail records. What, if any relationship, he allegedly had with the victim was not known.
Officers dispatched to the 1900 block of Richard Street at 9:54 p.m. Sunday found the body and summoned detectives to the scene, said Kendrick.
The woman apparently was in her 40s, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Kendrick told reporters at the scene Sunday that the woman was stabbed and had suffered multiple cuts to her upper body, according to KFI-AM (640).
Officers set up a perimeter around the location when they arrived “because we didn’t know what we had,” said Burbank police Sgt. Jeff Lamoureaux. The perimeter was later dismantled, he said.

Kendrick said a search warrant was obtained by police.
“Detectives and criminalists from the county crime lab are inside the residence now trying to determine what took place here last night,” Kendrick told Fox11 after daybreak Monday. The woman did not live in the residence, Kendrick said.
“At this time, we don’t know who she is … we don’t know anything about this person at this time,” Kendrick said. “We’ve contacted the homeowners, and we tried to talk to them to try and determine who this person is.”
According to jail records, Lowe has had numerous run-ins with the law beginning last year.
Lowe was arrested on Jan. 30 by deputies from the sheriff’s Industry Station on an unspecified misdemeanor charge. He was arrested by Burbank police on Dec. 28, 2014, but that case was rejected for filing.
Lowe was jailed by Glendale police on Nov. 11, 2014, on an unspecified misdemeanor charge and was eventually sentenced to 20 days in jail and probation.
Just hours after posting bail on the Glendale charge, he was arrested by Burbank police on another misdemeanor charge.
Lowe was jailed by LAPD Valley Traffic officers on June 3, 2014, on misdemeanor charges and sentenced to a total of 45 days in jail on two counts.
