A Los Angeles police officer was injured in a collision between a patrol car and a SUV Monday in the Beverlywood area, and officers were searching for the hit-and-run driver.
The collision at the intersection of Robertson Boulevard and Beverlywood Street took place about 2:40 p.m., said LAPD Officer Matthew Ludwig.
The officer suffered “lacerations to the arm” and was taken to a hospital, police said.
The driver who struck the patrol car fled the scene. Police found the vehicle abandoned a short distance away from the crash site, Ludwig said. A perimeter was set up and officers were still searching for the motorist late Monday afternoon.
