A man wounded in a shooting at a Carson gas station died from his injuries, authorities said Thursday.
The victim — who apparently was the target of the attack — was gunned down about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday in the minimart of the Valero station at Sepulveda and Avalon boulevards, said sheriff’s Lt. Pat Aikin of the Carson Station.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s department.
The victim, who was in his late-30s, was a customer at the gas station, according to Aikin. His name was not immediately released. The shooter was described only as a man wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, Aikin said.
A motive for the crime was unknown. Investigators hoped that security video would help identify the shooter, the lieutenant said.
