A stolen car being chased by sheriff’s deputies in Azusa crashed into three vehicles Monday night, injuring four people, before its driver ran off.
The chase, which lasted less than a minute, began at 7:19 p.m. when “a unit got behind a stolen car,” Sgt. Raymond Roth of the sheriff’s San Dimas Station said.
The suspect’s vehicle sideswiped one car at the intersection of Gladstone Street and Lark Ellen Avenue and then hit two cars and a motorcycle at the intersection of Gladstone and Citrus Avenue, Roth said.
Four people suffered moderate injuries and were taken to County-USC Medical Center. Two of the victims were airlifted from the scene, the sergeant said.
A perimeter search was underway for the suspect, he said.
