Authorities Thursday announced the recovery of 44 stolen “third row” SUV seats and the arrest of a suspect, and they urged possible victims to contact detectives to recover their property.
The items were believed to have been stolen from the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding areas, the sheriff’s department reported.
On Oct. 28, deputies arrested Alexander Huerta, 30, at his home on 36th Street West, and recovered the stolen seats, officials said.
Huerta was booked on suspicion of receiving stolen property and operating a chop shop.
Deputies are working to match the recovered property with reports of stolen third row seats.
People who have reported a third row seat stolen in the Santa Clarita Valley or surrounding area — and who have some way to identify their property – – should contact the sheriff’s Crime Impact Team at (661) 799-5147.
