A 91-year-old man suffered major injuries Wednesday when he was struck by a pickup truck while crossing a Signal Hill street on his mobility scooter, a police sergeant said.
The accident occurred at 1:30 p.m. at Willow Street and Temple Avenue, said Signal Hill police Sgt. Brian Leyn.
The man was crossing Temple Avenue at eastbound Willow Street on his four-wheeled scooter when the Ford F-250 pickup truck made a right turn, striking him, Leyn said.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment, the sergeant said.
The accident was under investigation, Leyn said.
