A 36-year-old U.S. Navy sailor was fatally injured when his motorcycle collided with a car in Inglewood, police said Friday.

Terrence Williamson of Los Angeles, who worked at the Navy recruiting center in Inglewood, crashed into a vehicle at the intersection of Century Boulevard and Second Avenue, said Inglewood Police traffic investigator Jeff LaGeek. He was headed west on Century when he collided with the car going south on Second Avenue, he said,

Williamson was thrown off his bike and transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, LaGeek said, adding the driver of the car stayed at the scene and was not arrested or cited. The crash took place Tuesday at about 9:20 a.m. There was no word of why authorities did not disclose the incident until Friday.
