Two men are in custody on suspicion of commercial burglary and evading for allegedly attempting to steal several bottles of cologne and perfumes Saturday from a business in Alhambra.
Officers dispatched at 5:46 a.m., in response to an alarm call in the 1100 block of South Westminster Avenue, saw a van backing out in the driveway of the location, according to a news statement from the Alhambra Police Department.
Upon seeing the officers, the driver allegedly fled and a short vehicle pursuit began. The van crashed on Mission Road, west of Stockbridge Avenue. An occupant in the van fled on foot, but was apprehended. Another man was removed from the van.
“The van was full of loss, which appeared to be cologne/perfumes (bottles) and the location (the business) had a smashed window,” according to the news release.
