Police Thursday believe the same gunman was involved in two drive-by attacks that left one man dead and two others injured in the San Fernando Valley.
The first shootings happened about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, said Officer Aareon Jefferson of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations Section.
Two men were wounded in the attack at Sepulveda Boulevard and Plummer Street in Panorama City. One victim later flagged down officers at Nordhoff Street and Orion Avenue in North Hills, according to a desk officer at the LAPD’s Mission Station.
The men were taken to hospitals where they were treated and released, the officer said.
One man was killed in the second shooting, which happened at Van Nuys Boulevard and Plummer, police reported.
Officers found the victim, a 37-year-old man, near a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics rushed the Winnetka resident to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The initial investigation revealed that unknown suspects were involved in a possible ‘road rage’ incident with the victim,” according to the news statement. “One of the suspects used a firearm to shoot the victim. The suspects fled the location.”
The shootings were believed committed by the same gunman, according to a desk officer at the LAPD’s Mission Station. Descriptions of the suspect vehicle varied, but witnesses agreed it was a four-door car.
LAPD Valley Bureau detectives asked anyone with information about the shootings to call them at (818) 374-1934.
