An 18-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by gang shooting Thursday, and the two suspects remain at large, police said.

The shooting occurred about 2:30 p.m. in the 200 block of West Verdugo Avenue, between Lake Street and Victory Boulevard, Burbank police Sgt. Claudio Losacco said.

Witnesses told police a “black sedan occupied by Hispanic males drove by, yelling gang-related obscenities and then shot at the victim and his friend,” Losacco said.

The victim, a Burbank resident whose name was not released, was driven to the hospital by his friend where he was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

Anyone with information on this shooting was asked to call Burbank police Detective Brimway at (818) 238-3278 or (818) 238-3000. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477. All tips can be made anonymously.
