A man found dead of a gunshot wound in a Whittier apartment was identified Tuesday by the coroner’s office as 33-year-old Simon Gonzales of Whittier.
The shooting in the 6300 block of Comstock Avenue was reported at 12:57 a.m. Monday, said police Lt. J. Tatman. The call reporting the shooting said it had been accidental.
Investigators were canvassing the area in search of witnesses and other information, Tatman said.
