A man suspected of brandishing a rifle during an argument with a neighbor was gassed out of his room at a downtown hotel Sunday following an hours-long standoff with a SWAT team, police said.
The brandishing report came in about 1:30 a.m. at the Union Hotel at 705 E. Ninth St., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
After the SWAT team fired tear gas into the room just after 9 a.m., the man exited and was taken into custody, according Officer Jenny Houser of the LAPD’s Media Relations section.
Police recovered a rifle from the man’s room, Houser said.
No injuries were reported.
