Investigations were underway Friday into a fatal deputy- involved shooting in Lancaster.
The shooting took place in the 43900 block of San Francisco Avenue about 6:40 p.m. Thursday, according to the sheriff’s department. Paramedics rushed the man to an area hospital, where he later died, said sheriff’s Deputy Trina Schrader.
Information on what prompted the shooting was not immediately released.
The shooting was being investigated by the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau, the Internal Affairs Bureau, the Office of the Inspector General and the L.A. County District Attorney’s Justice System Integrity Division.
