A woman who had worked at the In-N-Out Burger restaurant in La Mirada for two decades was found shot to death Friday in the parking lot of the eatery.
The shooting at 14341 Firestone Blvd. was reported at 4:45 a.m., said Deputy Lisa Jansen of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Deputies responding to a “female unresponsive” call found the woman, who was wearing an In-N-Out uniform, lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the upper body, according to Deputy Grace Medrano of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The victim, identified by her employer as Josefina Alcocer, was pronounced dead at the scene, Jansen said.
“The entire In-N-Out family grieves today over this senseless tragedy as we send our thoughts and prayers to the Alcocer family,” said Lynsi Snyder, the company’s owner and president.
“Josefina had been a part of our In-N-Out family since 1996 and she was one of our original associates at our La Mirada restaurant,” Snyder said. “We are devastated and will miss her. So many things going on in the world today. We will remain strong and stand in love for Josefina.”
Sheriff’s homicide detectives urged anyone with any information regarding the shooting to call them at (323) 890-5500.
