Los Angeles Valley College was evacuated Wednesday in response to a series of threats received by campus officials, leading to the discovery of a suspicious package that was examined by a bomb squad but was ultimately determined not to present any danger.
According to roughly 3 p.m. posting on the college’s Facebook page, officials “received several threats and are working with law enforcement to validate these threats.”
“The campus is being evacuated. Please leave the campus immediately and calmly. This is not a drill,” the posting warned.
A bomb squad robot was deployed to examine a suspicious item found on the campus, but shortly before 5 p.m., officials had given an all-clear.
Nonetheless, all evening classes were canceled at the college at 5800 Fulton Ave.
