Firefighters have cleared a line of vegetation around a wind-stoked brush fire caused by arcing power lines that scorched 33 acres in the Santa Clarita area, authorities said Saturday.

The fire was reported at about 7:15 a.m. Friday near Newhall Ranch Road and Copper Hill Drive, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No structures were threatened.

Firefighters had the blaze 100-percent contained with flames out and a fire line around the blaze at about 10 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Art Marrujo. One truck remained at the scene to watch for smoke and flare-ups.
