A man was fatally injured Sunday, and three children and five adults were hurt in a two-vehicle crash in North Hill.
More than 60 firefighters responded to the collision, reported around 11:39 a.m. on Haskell Avenue near Parthenia Street, said Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Multiple passengers were ejected, and one of the cars rolled over, he said.
Nine people were transported to nearby hospitals, and one man later died at a hospital, according to Officer Rosario Herrera of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Helicopters were deployed to transport the three children, whose ages were not disclosed, to pediatric trauma centers, Scott said.
The Mayor’s Crisis Response Team was called to the hospital to help the family deal with the trauma, he said.
