A hiker weakened by heat exposure while in the Santa Monica Mountains in Malibu Tuesday was hoisted from the area and evaluated by paramedics.
Firefighters were dispatched at 2:40 p.m. to the area of Zuma Ridge Mountainway and Edison Road and airlifted the woman to a landing zone near the Zuma Lifeguard station, where she was evaluated, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Randall Wright.
The woman, whose name was not released, did not require hospital treatment, Wright said.
