Police Wednesday sought the public’s help in identifying a man who burglarized a recording studio in Hollywood.

The suspect entered the studio in the 6600 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, between Highland and Wilcox avenues, about 3:45 p.m. Saturday and, when questioned by an employee, claimed to be a repairman, picked up a large sound board and placed it in his car, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

“The suspect drove away before the employee could verify his claim,” police said.

The suspect is described as being in his 30s, 6 feet tall and weighing about 250 pounds. His vehicle was described as a dark-colored four-door car.

Anyone with information about the suspect was urged to call the Hollywood Division burglary detectives handling the case at (213) 972-2929 or (213) 972-2931.

After-hours or weekend calls should be directed to (877) LAPD-24-7. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
