The driver of a yellow pickup truck may have been having a sudden debilitating medical condition and crashed his truck into another vehicle Sunday while driving eastbound on the Ventura (101) Freeway.
The crash was reported at 1:31 p.m. on the 101 near Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Sherman Oaks, said Officer Alex Rubio of the California Highway Patrol.
“We were getting calls of a possible reckless driver… They believed that driver was possibly having a medical condition causing him to swerve and be reckless,” Rubio said.
Officials issued a Sigalert and closed the two left lanes of the five- lane eastbound freeway for about an hour.
The extent of injuries, if any, was not immediately known, Rubio said.
