A vegetation fire burned two acres and threatened El Sereno homes Saturday before fire crews knocked it down.

The blaze was reported at 12:38 p.m. in the 4500 block of South Huntington Drive, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Two helicopters and more than 60 firefighters on the ground knocked down the fire in 47 minutes, Humphrey said.

No injuries were reported.

Officials remained at the scene to inspect nearby homes to determine if they sustained any damage, he added.
