A woman was fatally shot and a man was wounded as they sat in a vehicle in the unincorporated Los Angeles County community of Cudahy Wednesday.
Sheriff’s homicide detectives were sent to the 5000 block of Elizabeth Street, Deputy Kelvin Moody said. There was no immediate word of a motive for the killing.
“When they arrived, they found two victims sitting in the front seats of a vehicle, parked in front of the location, suffering from gunshot wounds,” Deputy Guillermina Saldana said.
“A 36-year-old woman had gunshot wounds to her upper torso, and a 26- year-old man had gunshot wounds to his lower extremities,” Saldana said.
Both were taken to a hospital after the 2:30 a.m. incident, where the woman died and the man was treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
The woman’s name was withheld, pending notification of her relatives.
