Three restaurant burglaries in La Habra Thursday were similar to a spree of break-ins in Placentia two weeks ago, authorities said.
About 12:50 a.m., a burglary alarm sounded at California Sushi & Teriyaki at 1061 E. Whittier Blvd., according to Cindy Knapp of the La Habra Police Department. Officers found a broken window there, but nothing was taken, Knapp said.
Another burglary alarm went off at 1:18 a.m. at My Pizza Hub, 1501 W. Whittier Blvd., Knapp said. The window at that eatery was also broken and unspecified property worth about $800 was taken from there, Knapp said.
About 10:15 a.m., another burglary was reported at Mike’s Mexican Food, 430 W. Whittier Blvd. Police have not determined what was taken from that restaurant, she said.
Surveillance video captured an image of the suspect, who was described as a man with short hair, wearing a jacket or a hoodie and shorts.
Anyone with information about the crimes was asked to call police at (562) 383-4300. Anonymous tips may be made online at www.tip411.com, Knapp said.
Three Placentia restaurants were broken into by a window-smashing thief on July 13, according to authorities.
