Sheriff’s investigators sought the public’s help Monday in tracking down two suspects who chased a victim from a Whittier park, then beat him after he ran into a business across the street.
The attack happened about 4 p.m. on July 20 at McNees Park at 11590 Hadley St., according to the Sheriff’s Parks Bureau. The victim, whose name was withheld, was kicked in the head with an unknown hard object.
The male suspects were both described as Hispanic and bald. One was 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and skinny, and the other was 5 feet 2 to 5 feet 4 inches tall.
An employee at the business spotted two females, who were possibly associated with the suspects, getting into an older beige SUV or van after leaving the store. Their images were captured on security footage, which was being circulated by investigators.
Anyone with information about them or the suspects was urged to call sheriff’s Detective Joseph Cerda at (213) 216-7675. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling (800) 222-TIPS.
