Prosecutors declined Tuesday to file a case against one of two men arrested in connection with the weekend shooting death of a man in Covina during an apparent robbery.
Sarah Ardalani of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said police were asked to conduct further investigation involving Christopher Avila, 20, who was released from jail early this afternoon.
Avila was arrested late Saturday by Covina police in connection with the killing of Isaac Urena, 20, who was shot to death just before noon Saturday in the 800 block of West San Bernardino Road.

A second man, Adam Hernandez, 21, was charged with being an accessory after the fact, according to Ardalani. He was ordered to remain jailed in lieu of $1 million bail while awaiting arraignment Aug. 22 at the Pomona courthouse.
Police said Urena appeared to have been shot to death during a robbery that occurred after a meeting was arranged on offer-up, a popular online marketing app.
It was not clear whether the shooter was the would-be customer or whether the shooting was random. Police did not disclose what type of property was being sold in the transaction.
Urena was in a vehicle with a friend, who drove away from the scene after the shooting and into the parking lot of Faith Community Church in West Covina, where Urena was pronounced dead, police said.
