A man and a woman suspected of grand theft at a Beverly Hills clothing store were taken into custody Thursday night after they attempted to run from a vehicle following a brief chase.

A second man suspected in the theft of multiple articles of clothing from Robin’s Jean at 313 N. Beverly Drive eluded officers, according to Sgt. Giovanni Trejo of the Beverly Hills Police Department.

Police were informed of the theft about 6 p.m. and soon after a motor officer spotted the suspects’ vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver wouldn’t yield, Trejo said.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle in the 300 block of Spalding Drive and fled on foot, he said.

A man and woman were soon taken into custody across from nearby Beverly Hills High School, but another man was not found, Trejo said.

The outstanding suspect is believed to be in his 20s. He was wearing a T- shirt and shorts.
