Eight children sustained minor injuries Thursday when the school bus in which they were riding was rear-ended by another vehicle in the Mid City area of Los Angeles.

The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. in the 2400 block of Washington Boulevard, between Arlington Avenue and Gramercy Place just north of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The children, who were between 7 and 12 years old, were taken to a hospital as a precaution, according to Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Two adults — the bus driver and an assistant — were evaluated at the scene but declined to be taken to a hospital, Scott said.
