
Los Angeles Sheriff‘s detectives Sunday asked for the public’s help in tracking down a killer who shot a man in an SUV in South El Monte.
The bloody body was found in the SUV’s driver’s seat. While officials know the identity of the victim, they have established no motive for the murder.
The shooting was reported at 9:12 p.m. Saturday, in the 2000 block of Durfee Avenue, Deputy Crystal Hernandez of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau said.
Deputies from the Temple station responded to a “gunshot victim” call according to Hernandez.
When they arrived at the site, they found the man in the driver’s seat of a SUV in a parking lot. The man had been shot in his upper chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
A motive for the shooting was unknown.
