An ex-con who allegedly shot and stabbed his girlfriend at a home in Pacoima and then fled to Las Vegas pleaded not guilty Thursday to a murder charge.
Michael Jerome Parks — also known as “Chicken Mike” and Michael McTizic — was charged Monday in connection with the Sept. 7 killing of his girlfriend, G’Teasha Elayne Fisher.
Parks, 47, allegedly shot and stabbed the 33-year-old woman after convincing her to meet him at the home, according to Deputy District Attorney Ani Bailey.
He allegedly fled and was arrested later in Las Vegas and then extradited to Los Angeles, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
The murder charge includes the allegations that he used a handgun and a knife in the commission of the crime.
The criminal complaint also alleges that Parks has a string of criminal convictions, including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a firearm, transport or sale of a controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a felon, dating back to 1985.
Parks also is charged separately with six felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly ramming his vehicle three times into another car containing a man and his 5-year-old son in what authorities believe is an unrelated incident on July 7, the prosecutor said.
He is jailed on just over $6 million bail.
If convicted as charged in both cases, he faces life in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
