A Torrance man was arrested Saturday in connection with a road rage incident in Cerritos, authorities said.
Brandon Patrick, 25, was arrested for suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon for pointing a gun at a Lakewood couple in their car, Lt. Ed Wells of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Cerritos station said.
The 51-year-old Lakewood man and his 44-year-old girlfriend were driving westbound on South Street east of Studebaker Road and Patrick was in the vehicle behind them, Wells said.
Patrick believed the Lakewood man cut him off, Wells said.
The two men exchanged “hand gestures” and the Lakewood man followed Patrick to a residential neighborhood in the 18900 block of Castle Place where both men stopped their vehicles, the lieutenant said.
“Suspect Patrick approached the victim’s vehicle and pointed a handgun at both the male and female victims,” Wells said. Patrick then walked to a nearby residence where deputies arrested him.
He was booked into the Cerritos Sheriff’s Station and released less than five hours later after posting $50,000 bail. No court date was set.
