The CHP Sunday sought witnesses to a motorcycle freeway tragedy in Granada Hills in which a 19-year-old biker was killed when his motorcycle rear-ended an older giant SUV and then collided with another vehicle.

There were still few details available about the deadly crash, and authorities did not disclose if alcohol or drugs may have been involved.

The 19-year-old motorcyclist killed in a three- vehicle crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Granada Hills was identified as Phoenix Andersen of Lancaster, coroner’s Lt. Brian Kim said.

The crash was reported at 9:15 p.m. Friday on the northbound side of the freeway at Roxford Street, the California Highway Patrol reported.

Andersen was riding a 2003 Yamaha when he rear-ended a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban, continued forward and struck a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Officers at the CHP’s Newhall office asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (661) 294-5540.
