A 19-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a three- vehicle crash on the Golden State (5) Freeway in Granada Hills, the California Highway Patrol said Saturday.

The crash was reported at 9:15 p.m. Friday on the northbound side of the freeway at Roxford Street, the CHP reported.

The motorcyclist, riding a 2003 Yamaha, rear-ended a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban, continued forward and struck a 2016 Hyundai Sonata. The motorcyclist, a resident of Lancaster, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported. It was not immediately known if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

The CHP’s Newhall office asked anyone who saw the crash to call them at (661) 294-5540.

The cause of the fatal accident remains under investigation by state and local authorities.
