Police were searching Saturday for two killers who gunned down a victim in a CVS parking lot in a residential area of Palms.
Authorities asked the public for help in finding the murderers.
The shooting was reported just before 8 p.m. Friday in a CVS Pharmacy parking lot in at Sepulveda and National boulevards, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Station. Officers arriving at the scene found the victim lying in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said. His name will be released pending notification of next of kin, according to the coroner’s office.
Witnesses reported seeing at least one of the suspects fleeing in a dark, compact SUV going northbound through the parking lot, police said. But police said they believed two suspects were responsible for the killing.
A store employee told reporters that her vehicle, as well as others parked there during the time of the shooting, were not being allowed to be moved from the parking lot due to the active crime scene and that she had to use a ride-sharing service to get home.
LAPD West Bureau homicide detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the shooting to call them at (213) 382-9470.
