A 54-year-old man from eastern Los Angeles County was publicly identified Sunday as the person killed in a weekend head-on collision between a tow truck and a pickup truck north of Desert Center.
The crash was reported at 3:25 a.m. Saturday on State Route 177 near Osborne Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The driver of the pickup truck, Song Lo of Rosemead, died at the scene, according to the coroner’s office.
The pickup truck sustained “major damage,” said CHP investigators, but no other information was available Sunday.
