
A pair of crashes, one of them fatal, shut down a portion of the San Diego (405) Freeway Saturday morning in Inglewood.
The first crash occurred on the northbound side at Manchester Boulevard at 3:20 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

One person died at the scene of that crash, CHP said. The gender and age of the deceased were not immediately reported.
About 10 minutes later, a crash involving four vehicles occurred on the southbound side in that same area, a county fire dispatcher said. Two people were taken to hospitals from that crash, the dispatcher said, and a news photographer at the scene said one of them suffered critical injuries.
The southbound lanes, which were first closed at 4:41 a.m., were re- opened at 7:58 a.m., according to CHP Officer Dion Conley.
