Authorities Friday announced the apprehension of a 33-year-old man they believe shot and killed another man in Long Beach on April 19 over what they said was a “personal conflict.”

U.S. marshals arrested Jason Daniels about 9 p.m. Wednesday at a home in North Las Vegas without incident, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Daniels was booked into the Clark County Detention Center, where he remains pending extradition.

Police believe Daniels shot and killed William Luther Hayes, 38, over a “personal conflict.”

Officers dispatched about 9 p.m. on April 19 on a call of a possible shooting in the 500 block of Cherry Avenue  found Hayes suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics rushed Hayes, a resident of Long Beach, to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m. the following day, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

Daniels’ 2002 Dodge Durango was found Tuesday in California, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
