The Coroner’s Office Sunday released the name of an 83-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Malibu.
The woman was identified as Kokab Sheikholialaavasani, of Malibu, said Investigator Rudy Molano of the coroner’s office.
The crash was reported at 6:38 a.m. Saturday and occurred on Pacific Coast Highway, just west of Las Flores Canyon Road, said Sgt. Jeff Del Rio of the sheriff’s Lost Hill/Malibu station.
Sheikholialaavasani was pronounced dead at the scene, Del Rio said.
Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash at 6:44 a.m. Saturday, but did not take anyone to a hospital, a county fire dispatcher said.
PCH was closed to eastbound traffic at Carbon Canyon Road all day, snarling beach-related traffic on a day that saw 90 degree temperatures inland. Westbound traffic was down to one lane at Las Flores Canyon Road.
All lanes of PCH re-opened at 1:10 p.m.
