A woman in her early 70s was beaten inside her Torrance home by two men who staged a home invasion robbery but were later arrested, authorities said Tuesday.
An alert neighbor noticed suspicious activity outside the home in the 3600 block of Sara Drive and called police at 10:40 p.m. Monday, according to Torrance police Lt. Steve Danjou.
When officers arrived, the two men fled the home, Danjou said. One was arrested immediately and the second suspect was found in the attic of the woman’s garage.
Officers discovered the woman was struck several times by the robbers, he said. Police discovered one of them had an outstanding murder warrant from Colorado, Danjou said.
The men were being booked on suspicion of home invasion robbery, burglary, elder abuse and theft of the car from Colorado, he said.
